Mrs. Edmund Heinz, wife of the well known cigar manufacturer, died at the family residence, No. 917 North Eighth street, at 10:40 o'clock yesterday forenoon. She had been sick of [from] [the] grip for a week, but her condition was not regarded as serious until Saturday. Twelve hours before death, she lapsed into unconsciousness, and did not rally, finally passing away peacefully.
Deceased was born in Lorsh, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, on January 2, 1839. She had been a resident of Quincy for thirty-two years. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters and four sons -- Mrs. C. J. Menn, Mrs. William Hand, Miss Barbara Heinz, and Messrs. George J., Philip A., Joseph, and Edmund Jr. -- all residents of Quincy.
Mrs. Heinz was a member of St. John's Catholic church, and lived a consistent Christian life, beloved of all who knew her. Her death is a severe blow to the family, and they have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral will be attended at 7:30 tomorrow morning from the house, and half an hour later, services will be held at St. John's church. Interment at St. Boniface cemetery. [1]
