Philip Degen, a charter member of the local cigar makers' union, died at his home, 824 Hampshire street, yesterday, after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Degen was born January 10 1832 at Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. He had lived in Quincy many years. His wife survives him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 7:30 o'clock, from the house; and at 8 o'clock at St. Boniface church. [8]
